AI Usage Policy
35%
Maximum AI-Generated Content Per Submission
AI tools are allowed in this course, but no more than 35% of any submission may be AI-generated. Dr. Polly checks all submissions. Exceeding this limit has consequences.
The Rules
✅
AI is allowed as a thinking aid — You may use AI to help brainstorm ideas, understand concepts, check your grammar, or get feedback on your draft.
⚠️
35% maximum — No more than 35% of any submitted assignment may be AI-generated content. This applies to discussions, case analyses, and the final project.
🔍
Dr. Polly checks all submissions — AI detection tools are used. If your submission exceeds the limit, you may be offered a resubmission opportunity — but do not count on it.
❌
Do not use AI to write your work for you — Submitting AI-generated text as your own work defeats the purpose of this course. You are here to develop real analytical skills, not to have a machine develop them for you.
What's OK vs What's Not
✓ Good Use of AI
Ask AI to explain a concept you don't understand
Use AI to check grammar and clarity
Ask AI to give feedback on your outline
Use AI to help you brainstorm examples
Ask Prof. Polly AI for guidance on assignments
✗ Not Allowed
Asking AI to write your discussion post
Copying AI output directly into your assignment
Using AI to complete your PESTEL or SWOT
Submitting more than 35% AI-generated text
Letting AI do your strategic thinking for you
💡 Dr. Polly's Tip
The goal of this course is for YOU to learn strategic thinking. AI can help you study and improve your writing, but it cannot learn for you. Employers can tell the difference between someone who genuinely understands strategy and someone who just knows how to prompt a chatbot. Invest in your own skills — they will stay with you long after this course ends.
